Friday Faves on April 4

From Amy:
#1  I think I have mentioned our love of fairy tales before.   The sweeties have really been enjoying our look at traditional fairy tales.   Our latest creation was inspired by Tomie dePaola's Strega Nona.   It is a fantastic story to read aloud.    I read it to the Second Grade Sweeties.   They were NOT like Big Anthony.  They were great listeners.

#2  It's Book Fair Fiesta at my school!   I have discovered my two favorite books from this fair.   The sweeties have definitely picked Minecraft as their favorite.   But I do not share their opinion.    In fact, I do not even know what a minecraft is.    I  do know what a mine is.    I know what a craft is.    But make it a compound word and I am clues.   So, my pick is Clark the Shark by Bruce Hale.   Clark is the shark who LOVES school with all of his heart.   In fact, he needs to learn to stay cool at school because he LOVES it soooooooooooooo much.

#3  My other favorite book of the book fair is Mo Willems' The Pigeon Needs a Bath!.   It is Pigeon's opinion that baths are overrated.    The sweeties love the Pigeon.   They were super happy the Pigeon (and spoiler alert…..Duckling) showed up this week at the book fair.
From Laura:
#1-Since becoming the designated baker for the goody bags for the baseball team, I have found some wonderful baking sites. This week's treat was Snickerdoodle Bars from Crazy For Crust. So good!
#2-Texas bluebonnets are back!
#3-My last one can't be classified as a favorite, but the most recent news from Fort Hood hits too close to home. Prayers and thoughts to the heroes who serve our country with all their hearts.
